I've just had this yellow light come on today on my 2.0tsi GT Scirocco, left the car for an hour or so and it came on again when I went back to it. Any ideas what it may be? All running fine and had a VW Service one month ago and MOT last week (which always worries me as faults always seem to occur shortly after these things... Suspicious!). I called VW and they said they'll have to charge £150 just to check it and that won't be until the 29th Oct!
Most annoyingly - I've just traded the car in and am picking my new one up at the weekend!
It is indeed a manifold problem - the mechanic has turned the light off for now, will see if it stays off! The car runs fine so I just need it to last until the weekend when I pick up my new car really... Sneaky I know but it's a main dealer so they're well equipped to deal with any issues if indeed it does turn out to be anything...
Well the mechanic thought it was just a random error code anyway so I'm not too worried, he mentioned seeing similar things quite a few times in the past linked to other switches and slightly flaky electrics. My stereo also pops when I press the brake pedal half the time (sometimes if braking hard shuts down completely) and AM doesn't work - when I asked VW to check it out at the service they just said there were no error codes showing...
