1.4 TSi oil?
1.4 TSi oil?
Got an '09 1.4 TSi but the manual basically says 'to be advised' where the oil spec should be! Anybody know what spec the oil should be? Thanks.

Hi
The oil you need depends on the service schedule the car is on. If it is on an annual/10k miles service, you need an oil that meets the VW 502.00 specification. If it's the variable service schedule, you need an oil that meets the VW 504/507 spec. Use 5w30 for either regime or 5w40 for annual service that meet the above spec.

Re: 1.4 TSi oil?
VW dealers have been using 5w30 to VW505.00/VW507.00 for both service regimes for a few years now. It's fully synthetic and of a higher quality than an oil that meets VW502.00.

Thanks Cuprabob. I'm suffering buyers remorse after buying the car two weeks ago & then reading about the engine & DSG issues. I've noticed a judder on the engine when stationery (possible injector issue) & a judder from the DSG between 1st and 2nd and when turning hard from still. Both faults are not constantly there but in two weeks and 800 miles I've noticed them [emoji17] Thinking of selling it or throwing it to a dealer to sort out as I've transferred the extended warranty over, and it has 4 months left on it. Serves me right for an impulse purchase!
