Hello all.
So I got a little concerned when I've been reading on here and other forums about chain tensioners going on 2.0 TSI engines and so I went to investigate.
Mine is a 59 plate with 55k on the clock.
So from what I can hear, it doesn't seem to be sounding like the videos i've heard on youtube, but the engine does sound very tappety (for want of a better way to put it).
I've had the car 2 years and it's always sounded like this. It's been for usual service at VW and I've never questioned it before because I haven't listened to other people's 2.0 TSI engines before...

Yep, mine sounds exactly the same. Does get a little quieter once warmed up. Nothing to worry about.

Worried about mine initially but had a checked out with no problems. Yours sounds identical mine - just a loud engine mate.

Thanks everyone. Just wasn't sure. Just glad there isn't any sign of chain tensioner issues but I will keep listening out for it though.
