Sorry not been posting much but lurking in the shadows but in need of some help now...
At work someone hit my car and drove off, had to get the police involved and they got it sorted.
The lad who done it claims he didnt know he done it and is wanting to put it right by paying for the repair rather than going through the insurance, so am looking for a bodyshop in the Stirling area preferably but would travel Fife.
Its not a massive amount of work most of it would polish out but there has been paint removed and it was in very good condition before so I am wanting it put back to the way it was. Any recommendations of a bodyshop and what I can expect to pay for this would be appreciated.
Cheers, Jack

Sorry can't offer a name but you need to consider that the body has a 12 year warranty so you want a repair shop that is VW registered or prepared to guarantee the repair up to the 12 year point. Suggest you google vw body shop as a start point or contact your local VW dealer.

Re: Body shop in Central Scotland?
I am not sure about central Scotland but i have used Specialist Cars in Aberdeen previously and would not recommend to anyone. I know Specialist Cars are in Dunfermline but unsure who is the dealer in Stirling.
I took my Scirocco back to Specialist Cars to get a bit on the bootlid fixed under the 12 year warranty. Firstly they were refusing to fix it until eventually they agreed to fix it under "goodwill" gesture. They also mentioned that after they fixed the bootlid it would no longer be covered under the 12 year warranty, they were just offering a 1 year on the boot.
When i picked the car back up it was in an awful state, they attempted to clean the outside of it but made a terrible job. When i got inside the car, there was mucky handprints over the inside door-handle, dashboard, steering wheel and gearstick. I mentioned to them how unhappy i was about this and refused their offer of washing it again, best to clean it myself and inspect it properly.
Next day i spent 4 hours cleaning it as there was white marks all over boot and back bumper from the wet and dry rubbing down. Whilst drying the car i noticed overspray on the roof including a very lengthy scratch. I took it back to them and they polished out the overspray and scratch, but terrible service and now the bootlid is not covered under the 12 year warranty so would never go back to my local dealers again for any paintwork.
Best bet will be to contact your dealer and ask about any warranty on repair, if they agree to uphold the 12 year warranty on the repaired area then by all means go for it. But you will find in the VW small print the warranty only applies to original paintwork.
