Which Tyres to buy?

Post by Sebbristol »

Hi,

I have to buy 2 new rear tyres, I've spoke to quite a few people about it and some of them recommended a budget tyres.
Someone else said to go for GoodYear tyres.

It's my first Rocco so I'm not sure what to choose!

I only do about 100 miles a week to get from and to work.

Thanks

I would recommend any of these three in order of preference;

Michelin Pilot SuperSport
Goodyear F1 Assymetric 2
Pirelli P Zero (K1) - VW OEM

Continental tyres came out best in the latest issue of Evo magazine. Got them on mine.

Depends to be honest matey. Go for budget if you're not too fussed about ride comfort/road noise although some are actually not bad with regards to that but obviously they're won't be as good as Pirellis or michellins. The most crucial thing more expensive tyres give you are a longer lifetime use whereas budget will naturally last a lot less time. However, as you only do 100 miles a week so about 5000 a year I think that you could definitely get away with budgets on the rears especially bearing in mind the fronts go a lot quicker than the rears on our roccos!

I've decided to go for Pirelli's got a decent discount on them so I'll see how I get on with them on my Rocco!
