Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
After 8 weeks waiting first set of Depo/FK test lights turned up and quickly installed. Everything looks ok and install is simple just need to tap into the OEM wiring for the sidelights then remove the old sidelight bulbs. No error light but looks like the beams are USA so almost flat. Going to get them set up tomorrow but quick pics for you but cars a little dirty.
Thoughts on them?

The individual leds around the edge look quite blue. Or is that just the picture? Also I take it the sidelight unit is now not used at all?Dubvrs wrote:After 8 weeks waiting first set of Depo/FK test lights turned up and quickly installed. Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
The blue is just the picture. You can keep the OEM sidelights as well but I removed them as they were blue and did not match. Adjusted my settings with Vagcom so only the sidelights come on as DRL's.

Not faults with them electrically. Got them setup but need to strip them to convert them to RHD. Beam output not as good as OEM lights but not used it fully in the dark yet.Shaun1982 wrote:I finally 're-fitted my gloss black sidelight surrounds then fitted my new xtec bulbs, still hate changing bulbs on this car!

Cool.I don't think I'd ever dare strip headlights, especially new ones. I've stripped others before though

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Off to a wedding tomorrow & Walter hasn't had any attention recently so I treated him to a full wash cut and blow dry then after some minor corrective claying (damnedable summer bugs) gave him the full werkstat acrylic once over ( or twice over with the jett mid layer)
Really nice to use - the prime base layer goes on like a conventional paint cleaner but buffs very glossy then the jett & glos apply like detailing sprays with half hour between coats
Took the gap hour and a half to poorboy my wheels & treat the honeycomb front grille with AF revive
Naturally as soon as I finished it rained but the beading is good !

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Decied to give the outside a wash and finish off with a quick detailer. Was much needed. Hasnt been done for almost 1 month! Im slacking!!!
Looks much better now.
Also put in some xtec bulbs in the headlights as recommended by a member on here. I like how fluxs bulbs look but the light output isnt the best And makes night time driving in the rain quite difficult.
Now waiting for darkness to see how they look.

Been quite a while, so gave the outside citrus pre-wash, wheels cleaned, body shampooed, then finally gave the tyres a dressing
Whilst cleaning, had chat with a door to door sales person who was very interested in the car, called it 'one of those new ones' and looks very nice.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
did the right thing and stopped to help a shaky lady whose porsche cayman had been rear-ended by a beetle while she had kids in the back. the beetle had cried it's coolant out, the cayman had a tiny scratch. so apologies if you were on the a10 northbound this afternoon..!
