Just seen a new facelift! *pics added*

There's one at Northampton VW and rather nice they look in the flesh too. It's a Rising Blue 2.0 TDI R-Line and really does look the business, far better than it looks in the pictures. It's a customer order so they wouldn't let me play with it . The body kit and new front end really do suit it but I couldn't get a decent view of the back since it was parked up against another car. The dash-top dials don't look silly at all, they look less pronounced than they do in the pictures.

One negative observation is that with the revised wheels (the old R ones) and the ultra low profile tyres it had on, the gap between the tyre and the arch is even more pronounced than it was previously and some lowering would almost be a prerequisite. Still, yummy!

I don't know how they got it so early, they said it was in last week which is a bit sharpish!

Thanks for the info Bill, yes - I would imagine that one is one of very few in the country, I am surprised also that there is one at a dealer already, I would have expected end of September.

Interesting observation about the dials, as that has been the controversial talking point of the facelift model, I will be keen to see one.

I've just been to pick up my car and pointed my phone at the one mentioned above (which they'd hidden!)....

I think the front does look more altogether than the existing model



And you can see what I meant about the gap between the wheel and the arch, it looks more pronounced (to me anyway)



Ref my comments about the dash-top dials, that's from looking through the window. With it being a customer order they wouldn't let me inside it.

It's likely to still have the transportation blocks fitted to the springs so there is a chance it might not sit as high when tbese are removed.

The new bumper is horrible. and those new fog light and indicator light cluster in the bumper are horrid. they are too square. breakes up the curves in my opinion big from me

It's not the new R bumper. It's the new R-line bumper.

Rather than comparing to the old R or to "what it could have been", compared to my existing GT I think this is a very definite improvement. I like it.

The new fog lights in the grill doesn't suit the scirocco. Now it looks like a golf gti or gtd .

I'm with devil mostly. I like the new lights but that bumper is nowhere near as nice as our shapes. Having said that I do like the R though,especially it's rear bumper

I agree with Luke. Ugly front end. Headlights round and bumper lights square just do not match. The beetle has had the additional instrument clock pod for a while and not that bad imo.
