DSG Gearbox on a manual!?

Alright guys,

Wondered if somebody could shed some light for me, I've just brought a 2.0 TDI 170 roc manual transmission.. however it appears to be registered and was listed as a S-A DSG, my question is then has my car been incorrectly registered, or can you get a DSG gearbox in a manual?

I'd assume it had been incorrectly registered but I have seen a number of manual 170 GTs listed as this?

There is a large batch of 170 TDI cars, mine included, that were incorrectly classed as DSG (S/A) when the VIN numbers were registered by the importer. Importantly the CO2 value is correct for a manual car, so you are paying the correct VED

It's a minor inconvenience when doing insurance quotes but life's too short to try and get DVLA to fix it:-)

Ah I see! I thought that must've been the case somewhere along the line, but yeah you're right it's only really cropped up when doing insurance.. but I think I can cope with a bit of hassle once a year :-)

Yep mines exactly the same. Common problem!
