Best Merlin Cloth Upholstery Cleaners

Post by PVAD »

Hey Guys and Gals

Messed up royally whilst trying to clean a hand gel stain on the seat. Made it worse by stupidly :fall: thinking a wet-wipe would solve it.

Left with a hideous discoloured patch on the passenger seat and with this recent hot spell it's properly embedded in the Merlin cloth. Only had the car for 2 months

What's the best product that will leave it showroom standard? Price is irrelevant.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your trauma - I had a watermark in the cloth passenger seat which Autoglym Hi foam interior shampoo lifted out nicely - but your situation sounds quite a bit worse than water
Basically get a stiff(ish - not wire or anything) bristle brush ( I have a Meguires twin bristle upholstery brush available from Halfrauds ) and work the stain from the outside into the middle with soft circular motions then blot with a clean cloth

Be careful not to work the brush too hard because you don't want to damage the fabric

If this fails your into specialist steam cleaning - let me know how you get on

As above use a brush and a upholstery cleaner like auto brite fab. Or even a apc diluted to the right concentration
