TDI 170 Aceleration hesitation

I have been having an issue with my 170 and not quite sure what it could be, when you put your foot to accelerate (regardless of gear) you get a brief hesitation before it fires.

Having had a Revo update done to it it has extenuated the problem and it is irritating that you put your foot down and it doesn't respond as it should do.

It was suggested that it has a dirty EGR? or it hasn't cleared the DPF correctly?

You sure that's not just turbo lag? Diesels have never been the most responsive anyway. Any more details you can give?

Erm, it's quite noticeable for turbo lag, never been this bad and now it can hop a little when accelerating at certain speeds.

If this was my old Mk4 Golf TDI I'd say the MAF is on the way out....the test (IIRC) is to unplug and see what happens, performance increasing or remaining unchanged would indicate a faulty MAF, performance getting worse suggests it is ok.

I did do that one, unplug the MAF, it stayed exactly the same - I thought you could measure the MAF and see if it was on it's way out with VCDS?

Also what I was told it may be was a sticky or faulty VNT, which is also replaceable, and I have been told that I can test it with VCDS but can't find where I can test it as it is not the same measuring block.

I'm in no way an engineer but I was under an impression that todays cars are engineered like that with slight acceleration delay. My DSG TSI has that little lag, and I am certain it is not supercharger lag, as that comes online at around 2.5k rpm and is very noticeable. When I 1st got my scirocco I asked few people (who know more about the cars than I do) about it, and they said it is just the way todays cars are :/

P.S. When I switch to full sports mode (sports button and gearbox set to sports), the delay disappears.

its a very noticeable delay, plus other mitigating factors such as some hopping at around 70mph and other small things point to an issue.

To get to the bottom of it assuming there are no fault codes logged is to connect VCDS and log some parameters real time to see what's causing the hesitation. It could be a MAF, an injector as well as a few other things.

Thanks bob, I have tried - the obvious one I was told was the VNT, but I can't seem to locate the measuring block for that one. Everywhere it states 11 but I don't have that one on VCDS.

Finally managed to get some time to do a drive and test everything. Did another Autoscan, didn't get any faults, did a basic settings N75 test, didn't get an error it just completed the test.

Then proceeded to take a drive and measure blocks 003, 010 and 011.

The result is in the link (can't attach or copy and past) but to be honest I can't see anything jumping out, maybe I'm just missing things.
