Hey there, have my Scirocco a month now, excellent car, so enjoyable to drive. 2.0 DSG Shadow Blue with upgraded aftermarket alloys. Didn't like the incredibly small choice on offer from VW so went aftermarket, what do you think? It doesn't really show up in the photos but they're gunmetal grey which I think brings the colour out of the paintwork better than the standard silver...but that could just be me.
So just a couple of questions for other owners out there, does anyone think the tailgate opening double click on the remote is annoying? As in, you use the remote button to open the boot, it pops but you have to use the remote again to actually open it. I called into the VW garage to ask if this was a fault and they said it was a design safety feature.
I also get a rattling noise between 2 and 3 thousand revs under acceleration, which sounds like there's a bracket loose around the exhaust or something. Garage also put this down as a design feature?
Anyone got similar issues?
Thanks!
New Scirocco, design features or garage laziness!

The Garage has lied to you about the boot opening.

Damn, that's what I thought. So yours opens the first try? I can't see what is catching.

Exact same here, worked like that since the day I got it.Bagwafu wrote:Press and hold for about 1 and a half seconds and it pops open ..............
PS even if the car is locked just need to hold it and the boot opens and once the boot is shut the alarm is enabled again.

Have you checked that your wheel locking nut (in with the jack) is securely locked away?blue5 wrote: I also get a rattling noise between 2 and 3 thousand revs under acceleration, which sounds like there's a bracket loose around the exhaust or something. That was the cause of someone else' rattle that I read in another post somewhere.

I also got an aftermarket bluetooth Parrot kit fitted which is great except I have to keep the engine on when making a call i.e. if I come to my destination while in the middle of a call I can't turn the engine off but leave the ignition on to continue the conversation as the Parrot kit shuts off...and petrol is expensive enough as it is!
Rang the company that did the installation and the technician said the problem was with the radio wiring in the car and not the installation...ho hum not having much luck with technicians this week .
Oh and I'm still pretty sure the boot is catching and is not a safety feature (excuse given by VW service). Tried pressing remote button for a couple of seconds and then releasing but still have to do it twice.
Think I'll try a different garage and test the boot on a demo model!
