Hi,Please could any body help if they own a TD170 or maybe other models?? i have just bought a mk3 td170 2011 with 27000 on the clock its like new and is a genuine car, when i am on mainly A roads and if i decide to pass a car and put my foot down--around 50mph in maybe fourth gear the car appears to "as i call it tram lining" or feels like it steering itself for a few moments and to be honest does not feel that safe!!
i dont like posting on some forums because they often go off in the wrong tangent and end up with answers that are not relevant
This problem happens in any mode on the suspension,i have quiet new tyres all round,Fis on the front and contis on the rear, i also have had many golf gts and tdis and audi and i have always been happy with those, thanks

Sounds like torque steer to me......
Unless theres play in ball joints or track rod ends but i doubt it being so new.
Also check wheel nuts are tight

Re: Tram lining??
Perfectly normal, mine does it on a few A/B roads I travel. The torque steer is amplified by the unevenly worn road surface. On newer roads and motorways I can pull out and boot it no problems.

Re: Tram lining??
My Roc is now remapped to 180bhp and 407nm Torque and it now tram lines on uneven road surfaces when booting it.
Its normal.
