Attention from other drivers

Post by Luke.08 »

Hi guys. I had an experience that was a first for me. I was stopped at a set of traffic lights and a random guy I didn't no was asking what the car was. How quick it was ect. Now I have never been one for attention. But the attention my R gets is amazing. People always look either in thier cars on on the street. Just wondered if anyone else has had this type of experience. Do any of you get asked by strangers what it is?

Had a few similar experiences, one like yourself at traffic lights. :) I still think it's one of the nicest looking cars on the road. Myself and my boyfriend's family took it down the Blackpool illuminations strip the year I got it and the car was getting more looks than the lights, like blatant points and stares. I was embarrassed haha!

Once, when I got out of my car, after parking it in the high street, a crowd gathered and were muttering excitedly and behaving like a lost tribe in the jungle who had never seen a white man before. I thought it was because I was driving a rocco but soon realised that their behaviour was because I'd forgotten to put any clothes on. Sigh.......it's no fun getting old!

Had plenty of attention when the car was new, that was almost three years ago now, they were a rarity locally. My wife told me she saw a guy photographing the car when she was taking the very pretty cocker spaniel for a walk. He now drives a GT 140 Tdi. I wonder if I'll get the same looks when my Audi Q3 arrives as the Roc's replacement.

When I got my R a year ago all I saw was people staring at it. Kids... Women... Men... Nuns. Everyone. I'd actually feel offended if someone didn't stare, and shortly after put it down to them being blind. Partially sighted at the bare minimum.

A year later I hardly see anybody staring. But I think that's a lot to do with the fact that when I drive now I actually look where I'm going, instead of constantly looking at people walking along the pavement and craving their attention.

I typically get comments that it has a timeless design, one of the primary reasons that I also chose this car

People are always staring and comment on my car. When people overtake on motorway there passenger breaks there neck looking back at it still. Also had some guys wife in passenger seat staring giving thumbs up and pointing at it miming "nice car" . Even more high end car drivers stare at it, had a guy in a new white porsche 911 turbo hoggling it!! To be fair i would stare at it if it wasnt my car :) ive always loved how they look from all angles, especially the front they look so MEAN!!!
Theres no such thing as "grey area" im just plain and simple "black & white"
