Picked up my Scirocco yesterday, as the plan is to use it for business, the first task is to sort out Bluetooth for phone. Have decided against parrot/bury type systems, as it seems a waste of of Multifunction steering wheel and existing head unit.
There appears to be 2 systems you can fit, the OEM system, or the Fiscon System. Both appear to do the job and are similarly priced can anybody offer any pros and cons of each system?
On the basis that the above is likely to cost £300+ to do, does an alternative head unit become an option that will give Bluetooth connection and utilise the steering wheel controls?
I currently use my android phone for satnav, so a system that either includes satnav or can utilise the system on the phone, via the head unit would be ideal. does such a unit exist and if so approximately how much would it be?

Newer rns315 sat nav units have built in Bluetooth so all you'll need is a microphone and sow one to code it in using vagcom

I retrofitted the OEM vw Bluetooth kit into mine and it could not be Easyer. Took me about half an hour to do then a couple of minutes to code in. You can get the complete VW kits for £210 off ebay and they include everything needed.

Did you use any guides or instructions to install the Bluetooth? I'm looking to do this myself but I'm not 100% confident on the installation as yet.Dubvrs wrote:I retrofitted the OEM vw Bluetooth kit into mine and it could not be Easyer. Did not follow a guide as done a number of VW retrofits. Simple to do on a Rocco as you can place the Bluetooth box behind the climate controls. Your not that far from me so could help you do it and code it for you if you came to me.

Without wishing to steal Islander's thread, I managed to pick this up on ebay not long ago http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301132561450? ... 1423.l2649, the seller assured me it had all the kit I needed to retrofit, is this correct?

Re: Adding Bluetooth to RCD510
There is two retrofit looms so you need to make sure you have the correct one for your stereo. If you have a RCD510 the mic cable needs to go into the Bluetooth box directly. If you have a RNS510 then the mic cable should go into the stereo connector then another mic cable goes from the stereo connector to the Bluetooth box as the RNS510 has voice commands hence the mic cable passes through the head unit.Jay Scott wrote:That's very kind mate, where abouts are you?Dubvrs wrote:Did not follow a guide as done a number of VW retrofits.
