RCD510 slow reading SD cards

Post by keal23 »

Hi

Im using a 32GB SD card in my RCD510, but when i first turn it on it takes a good minute to two minutes to load, is this normal? or is there anything i can do to speed it up, probably about 15GB worth of music on there i think

Thanks

Using pretty much an entire 32gig card here with no speed issues on an RCD - although I am using one of the faster classes of SD card and my music isn't organised into folders, which I've read can slow it down?

as far as i know it only slows it down when you enable the mix mode, where the unit reads the first seconds of each music file in the current folder ;)

I never really have it set on mix so don't think its that :/ tried my class 10 card from my gopro last nite and still no better, gona try taking all the music out of each folder see if that makes any change, going to be a pain if that fixes it though lol

I bought a cheap iPod Classic off eBay and just keep it in the car, found it works much better than SD card

Yea might have to do that

Formatted my card and re added everything made no difference, having all the music in just the one folder made no difference either so I've run out of ideas

Mine normally starts playing somewhere around the end of my street, so maybe 30-40 seconds.I experimented a bit and it seems just to be the amount on there that slows it down.

I have the same issue with my iPod. It takes a while to load. Annoying, so I bought an SD card. Loaded all my music on there but not as the proper audio files....so I have to start again.
