I wouldnt go that far. The led lights are nice. Interior seats are the same but the dash controls etc are the same as the golf. At the end of the day its a facelift not a completey new design car So what do you expect for a facelift

"Facelift"? More like it's aged and has a saggy front like a catfish!
Love the rear lights and tailgate badge opening - hope they solved the possibility of locking your keys in the boot then?
I don't mind the dash but what the hell are those dials doing plonked on top in the centre - I do hope that is the Option so I don't get it!!!
HATE the rear bumper dentation - did it reverse into a low wall??
LED full interior lighting?
I'd expect electric memory seats by now along with fully dynamic cornering Xenon sidelights.
A spare space-saver wheel again is ideal.
Hardly what I expected but they're just milking it and upgrading the engine. Glad it doesn't have a go-fast stripe!

Here's a proper facelift but would prefer a black front grill edging: -

SMB wrote:I note from Kev's post that the new R produces exactly the same CO2 as the old one at 187 g, ? so it looks like the improvement solely comes from the stop start system. if that is correct i would expect sales vs the golf r to be minimal which is nearer 140g.
The new Golf is 159g/km and 165g/km for DSG and manual respectively. So £175 annual VED and £175 first year against £260 annual and £475 first year. The annual figure will be much of a muchness, it doesn't really figure for me but the first year is directly on the OTR purchase price. The bigger pain IMHO is for company car drivers that hit quite badly particularly if a higher rate tax payer.

If your such a person and a new R costs say 30k it is basically 3.6k in tax per annum against 2.8k for a Golf.

luc1989 wrote:Ohhh man, in november when i bought the last brand new r the sales man said and I quote "I promise you there will not be a new scirocco r till 2015" what a load of bull. The thing is the more I look at the new one the less I like it, the only thing I hate on mine is the mpg, maybe the new e888 engine is a bit more economical.
Same as me.. my R just arrived this month.
The salles also said there will not be a facelift till 2015.
Damn.

But the good/bad news in my country.. we need to wait 7 -9 month indent for this car.
So it might be right the facelift will landed here at 2015.

I had only 5-7km for 1L gas..hahaha

It's a big deal when you come to remap time when the gap widens to 50 to 60 bhp

Yes - but you'd have to change the tailgate ( and therefore the back lights ) to do it.

I think the VW badge as a handle is a backward step. I had this on my MK5 R32 and mych prefer the way the Scirocco is now.

Yep, have to agree with nevarran.. The gold paint looks kinda nice ! And yes, I agree with etotheip that its growing on me too.

Damn.

Was hoping to save some cash this year but never mind.

I have to admit the gold paint and black luganos are probably what I'd go for up to now. Would have to get the pano roof to set it off as well.. And as long as vw are fitting black mirrors, instead of the hinted at silver.. I may very well be tempted to purchase.

Think there might be a 2011 candy R with 8000 miles on it in the classifieds at some point soon lol.
