I'm loving the exterior. The headlights and rear lights are gorgeous. Am not liking the new cabin though. The new instrument cluster is far to chavvy for me. And the steering wheel is ugly
Do you think they'll actually put those top centre console gauges in the production models? I thought they were trying to standardize as much as they can across the vw range, but I've never seen those on any other vw model. Unless I'm mistaken of course.

They ruined a beautiful car... The front bumper looks a lot less aggressive and the bumper at the back looks like it comes straight from a Mercedes A45 AMG. Glad I got the 2013 model.
Ohhh man, in november when i bought the last brand new r the sales man said and I quote "I promise you there will not be a new scirocco r till 2015" what a load of bull. The thing is the more I look at the new one the less I like it, the only thing I hate on mine is the mpg, maybe the new e888 engine is a bit more economical.
I must admit, I am slightly underwhelmed with the new model, although I will reserve judgement until I see one for real. I really was disappointed to see those dials on top of the dash, they look so aftermarket, and oil temp/lap time could easily have been built into the MFD.

Architecture issues perhaps? I'd expected a Golf/Polo style interior after the 2014 polo facelift pics showed a mk7 style media unit and LCD dash, obviously VW have decided to stick with the previous gen media, nav and basic dash units for the rocco facelift.
Ah I can't say I'm a fan of the new exterior styling, especially on the standard model (aside from the new headlights). Looks like the upper-grille is mesh... not to my taste. Not sure if I like the lights on the bumper either... looking more like the rest of the VW fleet. Cabin looks nice though.
I note from Kev's post that the new R produces exactly the same CO2 as the old one at 187 g, ? so it looks like the improvement solely comes from the stop start system. if that is correct i would expect sales vs the golf r to be minimal which is nearer 140g.
