Bluefin won't work on your car, same engine as wife had in her golf cab. They only work in older cars without the new encrypted ecu

Re: WANTED bluefin or April superchip
a Bluefin should work on your engine as it should not have any encryption on it, I would not recommend buying a second hand unit as they are worth £25 in trade value to superchips to be able to make it work with your ecu you would need to get it reset which will cost you from £225.

Re: WANTED bluefin or April superchip
do you have any evidence to back up not working as my work sell Bluefin devices and from contacting superchips they have said there is not reason why this ecu is locked and it can be flashed. the only scirocco ecu that requires unlocking is the 140 and 170 2009 onwards diesel engine.
The reason the ecu on your golf could not be flashed was probably because the cmd boot/jig they were using was not as up to date as the software that superchips were sending to where ever you were getting it unlocked so the software could not actually be installed successfully on your vehicle. we have had this problem a few times but a simple software update sorted this out and fixed all the vehicles that we could not remap the first time around.

Re: WANTED bluefin or April superchip
£389 is also not the correct price who ever this is from is over charging you, superchips currently have a dealer wide offer of 10% off making most bluefins cheaper then remaps, the price of this unit should be £359 with the take away Bluefin device, the remap is £365 which you don't receive the bluefin device with.Beanbasher111 wrote:So go new then, £389 at the moment. Re: WANTED bluefin or April superchip
Yes I have evidence, a refund from superchips as they said they didn't realise the ecu was encrypted and couldn't get round it other than cracking the ecu, and I wasn't orepared to do that on a 3 month old car and the local superchips dealer also wanted £100 to crack it

Re: WANTED bluefin or April superchip
If you contact superchips now they would be able to do it as I have contacted them through work and they confirmed it can be done with no unlocking fee like is payable when you have the diesel version remapped it needs to be unlocked first which they should only be charging £60 for not £100.

Re: WANTED bluefin or April superchip
They will unlock the ecu for free bit you have to goto there head office in Milton Keynes for them to do this. My personal experience is that it won't work on this engine without unlocking ecu, if you are happy to provide and then refund the OP when it won't work then go ahead.

Re: WANTED bluefin or April superchip
There is no reason to go to Milton Keynes when any superchips dealer has a jig with the cmd boot that is what is used to do the ecu unlocking. But the engine in a scirocco 1.4 160 does not have an encrypted ecu.
