Brakes Squeaking Even When Driving!!! Help!!!

I was driving home after dropping my partner home and brakes were squeaking almost like a scratching sound even as I was driving. Back left brake has been squeaking when I have been braking before but not when just general driving. I pulled over and had a look at the brakes after being slightly worried. Rang a mechanic mate and he said it might be something stuck in the brake pad itself. After I had a quick long and started driving again, the noise had completely stopped and even when braking there was no noise.

My question are...

1. Is there anything I should be worried about in future driving?
2. Anyone else had this problem?
3. Does my mates quick diagnostics sound right?

I'm no expert, but here's what I would do:

- Remove wheels and check the pads for any damage/stuck objects
- Brake pads might need replacing?
- Might be worth giving the wheels a thorough clean/scrub to remove any dirt/objects

Stone stuck between disc and backing plate. Pretty common and sounds really bad.

Noise has gone as tbe stone will have been dislodged going over a bump and fell out.

So nothing to worry to much about. As in go to a garage and get it checked over

If the noise is stopped, then nothing to worry about but worth having a look around just to make sure everything is in.order

Sounds exactly the same issue as mine. Although back right. Took wheel off and checked the dics etc and nothing there. After a few heavy braking it seems to have gone but returns when just gently braking.

Im gonna ask my mate to rub the pads and grease them (whatever that means) after I fit new wheels and springs soon...

There is loads of grit and rubbish on the roads at the moment mines were making a the same noise , if it's a bit of crap from the roads it will rattle its way free or take the wheel of and clean the discs and pads
