I have just picked up my Rising Blue TDI Scirocco yesterday and I'm enjoying the driving expereience and the useful information I have found on this site!
I started to read the manual today and noticed my car is set to service schedules dependent on time/distance travelled. I thought the TDI came on the Longlife Service? My dealer never asked me what service schedule I wanted should they?
The manual states that if in your vehicle data sticker there is "QG1" which there is then your car should be on long life service but the dealer has ticked the Time/Distance schedule and will no doubt have set the service computer to run to that.
So I'm just wondering what everyone elses is set to.
I stated that this was required several times before I collected the car to make sure that they got it right, but other people had told me that Long Life was the default now. Perhaps not?
Don't see why they can't set yours up for Long Life now, as you've just collected it...
I've done 5700 miles, with service being shown as due in 13,200 miles, but it does vary depending on how you drive the car.
I picked up my tdi on 1st September. I'm up to 8000 miles, and have just got the message saying my service is due in 1300 miles. Is that usual, That will make my service due at about 9000 miles. That's not what i was expecting, service after 4 months.....

it will be set for the short service rather than the long life like i'm thinking you probably should have been. go speak to your dealer & they should either be able to change it to long life or turn it off & tell you when you actually need to come in.
