Crashed Scirocco :(

Post by Torrr »

Hey guys,

Just crashed my Scirocco, was my fault and I've now submitted a claim.

I'm worried whether it'll be a write off or repair, in my circumstance I'd much prefer it to be repaired. However, the damage is on the front left, so I'm going to need a new bonnet, front left wing, front bumper, headlight, and there appears to be a metal bracket under the front wing that looks dented. I'm not sure if this is the Chassis or whether this alone would make it a certain write off.

Anyone with more knowledge care to have a look? From what I saw, it's a white painted metal (seems like proper metal compared to the fairly plasticy outer panels), but it looks bolted/screwed onto a much larger (non painted) metal part of the car. So I think the fact its bolted on may mean it could be easy to replace?

(Pics below, the part I'm talking about is behind the front bumper and the left wing. Workshop guy told me it looks like a wing bracket but I don't know, it doesn't look that badly dented.

Any help would be much appreciated as I'm really stressed out right now.

Really not nice to see

I very much doubt it will be a write off as it's only bodywork damage and doesn't look structural from that pic.

Let us know how you get on

Two accidents in just over a year - that's bad luck! Hope you get it sorted without too much expense. :(
