Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Gave mine another wash. Washed and then used auto finesse finale as quick detailer. Also sealed the alloys with some poor boys wheel sealant. Mmmm it smells soooo nice
Few pics of after. And yes I know there is some crap on bottom of front bumper in last pic Was rinsing wash mitt and water splashed stones and crap up onto the bottom Forgot to wipe it off before pic.
Used few of these products today. Mum can't believe how much cleaning stuff I own. That's not all of it either. I couldn't believe how much it's all worth lol.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Finally got the wiring sorted out for the VW / Helix Plug & Play Soundsystem I installed last thursday. Was a real pain in the ass to install (had to take half the car's interior out) and still needs to be coded for Scirocco by the dealer (comes coded for Polo from the factory). Seems to be a little out of balance, but the sound improved already a lot over the standard system.
The local dealer would have wanted 600 euros for the soundsystem and another 500 for installing it plus the cost for coding. Got one from german eBay, installed myself and saved 700 euros.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
I've done loads to my rocco this weekend !
1) Fitted some LED puddle lights in the doors in place of the stock reflectors . They're really bright and it looks loads better !
2) Fitted the Golf V covered cup holder into the centre console.
I bought the bits for the above from http://www.bold-sport.com/store/ good prices compared to OEM , but i got stung a bit for import duties
3) Whilst the centre console was out , i replaced the stock 12v socket/storage tray in front of the gear lever with the smokers pack (covered ashtray & cigar lighter) , i also fitted an illuminated 12v accessory socket into the rear of the armrest so the kids can charge their ipods / phones etc
4) retrofitted cruise control - got the parts for just £85 off ebay Germany
5) removed the 2.0 TDI badge from the tailgate and fitted the GTS wing badge in its place

i'll tell you what i did to my 1.4 tsi 160 today, took it to the garage because it needs a new engine. its completly knackered, will vw ever own up to this engine as being a duff, recall them and sort it out. i'm looking at 6500 quid to sort it. sent an email to top gear to see if they can help. 09 plate, 40000 miles and dead? come on this must be a design fault. grow a pair vw and own up to it!!!!!!!! 15 grand wasted. gutted! not happy with vw at all.

mikko! a word of advise, the 1.4 tsi 160 is a major design fault. get rid and get the 2 litre. either diesel or petrol. you'll be sorry!!! as we say in wigan, it'll all come out int wash eventually. vw already know about it but because they spent hundreds of millions developing this engine and it being in about 8 different cars it would cost billions to rectify so joe public has to foot the bill, unless proven.

Replaced a tyre yesterday after getting a puncture on the A1. TPM system worked perfectly warning me but the small key that I discovered sticking out of the right rear tyre was close to the edge of the tread and not repairable. New Pirelli P7 was £162.00 fitted.

How is the sound improved overall? Could this be compared to Dynaudio or is it the "new version" of it?Mikko wrote:Finally got the wiring sorted out for the VW / Helix Plug & Play Soundsystem I installed last thursday. Just changed all interior bulbs to blue led. Looks pretty good. Tough though, some bulbs didn't wanna budge.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
First wash since I bought it two weeks ago followed by a coat of Armor All Shield. Any idea if the touch up pencil sets are easy to use. Got 2 or 3 very small stone chips on bonnet and not sure whether to leave alone or give it a go.
Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Better if you can find a local specialist auto paint supplier and get them to make you up a small tinlet of matching VW paint - then just dab on a little blob of it in to the chip with a small paintbrush (modellers type). That covers chips pretty well so long as the supplier can match it properly. My local shop is Leonard Brooks in Harlow (Essex) who do a fantastic job.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Thanks Mark but not sure if Candy white paint on my rising blue Roc would be a good look lol. VW dealer I bought it from gave me the proper colour matched touch up set. Was just wondering how easy they were to use. Will try the modelling paint brush as suggested. Got one left over from my VW Camper van model kit.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Installed a new tyre as got a puncture yesterday after going over a pothole, then hearing a huming noise on the way home. Checked and found 2 screws in the tyre, one was small, the other was 20mm(2cm) deep! Goodness.
Replaced with a brand new Bridgestone Potenza 235/45 R17 97W and back to normal now.
Was a bit ticky having to change out the old tyre and fit the spare, though good practise.

Where did you get them at that price? Seems a bargainMark V wrote:Replaced a tyre yesterday after getting a puncture on the A1.
