Thermostat 2.0tsi

Post by shshivji »

Hey all, has anyone here suffered from thermostat failure in their 2.0tsi, I've got Rocco with 45k on a 2009, since the weather has got colder, the gauge takes longer to get to 90 and when coasting or when on very light throttle the temperature starts to drop, classic sign of a weak thermostat. Thing is I've done some searching on the forum and there doesn't seem to be anyone else that's suffered this....just wanna know if anyone else has replaced the thermostat, I'm planning to do mine on Saturday at work :-)

Treat it to some new coolant as recommended by VW.
Glycol has many other functions than just being an anti-freeze, and it does deteriorate with time and miles.
