Hi all,
I started my car on Sunday and immediately got the ECU management light illuminated, this was follwed by the coil light and associated loss of power (limp home mode). I was able to clear the coil light by restarting the engine. It came back numerous times whilst trying to limp home.
The ECU management light cleared yesterday but came back this morning. I've had no reoccurance of the coil light.
After putting my car on my mates code reader we came up with:
P0401 - EGR Flow insufficient
P0403 - EGR Flow Malfunction
After hours of trawling I could only come up with the EGR solenoid not operating and opening the EGR, but found no reason as why it's happening. So chaps; do you have any suggestions?
The car is only three years old with 15500 on the clock. I know that the EGR/DPF system is pretty crud but surely it' shouldn't fail at such low milage. To top it all off my warranty lapsed last month!!
Many thanks.

Re: EGR Snag???
I don't have a suggestion I'm afraid other than take it to the dealers, but I would not accept a 'sorry mate your warranty has expired'. I would argue the case here. They should at minimum be paying goodwill towards the cost of repair/fix, so long as it has been serviced to the standard VW schedules.Junglie Scout wrote:Hi all,

Re: EGR Snag???
Well the snag cleared itself over the weekend and has stayed away. Gotta love intermittant faults; if it reappears it'll be straight to the garage for me!!
