Hey,

know the feeling, but do not try to smash the car, (s)he can not do anything about it. It's the VW designers or builders who are to blame. First wait what the dealer is telling you, you can try what is mentioned earlier, but also important, keep us updated on your findings because i think a lot of people are annoied by all of the rattles in ther car. Take care!!

The creak could be a faulty spot weld (as mentioned at the top of this thread), I had this issue fixed just last week. http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =2&t=11086" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Unfortunately I had to pay as out for it as I am out of warranty and not a safety issue. :(

I'll guess that was very expensive?

Well - by VW prices it was not so bad, I paid approx £200 for the repair, still £200 that I begrudged paying but to get rid of the annoying creak it was money sort of well spent.

The creaking noise I had 'fixed' recently seems to be returning. The noise is slightly different, more of a rumbling noise, sounds similar to the parcel shelf jumping around, but it is not that.

I am wondering if the wax stuff that was used to fix the faulty spot weld is failing in this heat, if I look in the boot area I can see a small pool of this stuff almost like it has melted from somewhere. Would be pretty poor if this is the case.

Think I will have to take it back.

OMG, good luck, and stay out of stress :):):) My car is in the south of France (1300 KM from my house) and has to be transported back to Holland due to a failure the local Bosch garage could not fix.............

Thank you creative27, actually I have an update. This new rattle is not the original one coming back. I realised last night when I was washing the car, that the tailgate had some free 'play' on the nearside.

I had remembered this thread which is long established http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =25&t=1884" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

This morning I set about adjusting the rubber bump stop's and already there is significant improvement. I need to adjust further to make it perfect, but this means I can now cancel my return trip to the dealer! :)

The waxoyl which I thought had melted I think now had just been applied over specific parts of the boot floor covering existing spot welds. It looks to have been applied somewhat messily but it may not be possible to apply it neatly as it were. I am not bothered as it is covered by the bootliner anyway.

I am happier now as I was thinking that the waxoyl 'fix' had failed and would have to be done again.

All best of luck with yours!

Mine is going back for the second time now. They adjust the rubber at the back but after only 10km the noise was back again.
Now they're going to look at the plastic around the C-pillar.

Hope they found it out!

Had my problem solved!
It was the C pillar plastic that was rubbing the rear right window. It was fixed my using a rasp and cutting down the edges!
