Latest scirocco?

Good morning all, any advice welcome

I have a gt 210 tsi and thought about upgrading to a scirocco R last year (much good advice given, thanks) but decided not to mainly because of the fuel consumption and overall cost. I regularly get 36 mpg out of my tsi which is a dsg, I'm really pleased with this.

The time has come to consider changing again and have tried to find out if VW will be putting the new Golf gti engine into the scirocco. My interest is more for the extra torque ( up to 258 I think which is equivalent to the scirocco r) rather than the little bhp increase.

My other interest is in the 177 diesel as the torque in that is up considerably on the 170. Has anyone got the 177 who can compare with the 170? Before the 210 tsi I ha a range of diesels and may consider returning.
