Scirocco gone

Post by ZephyR »

Sold my Scirocco last night, feel a bit sad this morning. Looks like its gone to a good home though.
Got a reasonable price for it in a private sale which means that it retained 59% of its original value over 4 years. Pretty amazing that I’d say.
The new TT arrives on Wednesday. Been keeping up with the TT forum site over the last few weeks but I don’t find it as friendly as the Scirocco forums, so if nobody minds I’ll still hang around here for a while. I still might be able to offer some help occasionally.

I think you should hang around dude. I'm still a member on the TT forum, was ok a few years ago but these things do change. Sorry to hear your scirocco has gone but hopefully you will be happy with the TT, I think that's the one car I would swap my scirocco for. Which one have you gone for?

Yes good luck with the TT ZephyR, sounds like you got a good price for your Roc. The residuals do hold up quite well I must admit! Hope you do continue to hang around on the forum! :)

Thanks for your comments guys and gals, much appreciated.
Although I had to wait almost as long for my TT as I did for my Roc I some how don't feel any where near as exited as I did waiting for the Roc.
Gone for the 1.8 S-line TT in Ibis white with some nice extras. I did look at getting another Roc but after sitting in a couple in the showrooms I thought ..... I'm spending all this money and it looks just the same as the car I've got now. That's one of the main reasons for a change. But lets see what the Mk 4 Roc has to offer when it comes out.

Mine's going soon too. I ordered a Golf GTD - 24 weeks wait from point of ordering to anticipated delivery in first week of September. Due to strict allocations per dealer (1 a month each dealership on average) and a dealership order amendment cock-up that put my car further down the list than my dad's ordered almost a week later, My dad got his GTD DSG 5 door Deep Black Pearl on Monday. It is superb - the new engine (184PS), the equipment levels, it's interior quality and it's handling/ride are an improvement on the Scirocco. The wait is long, but having a car like a Scirocco in the meantime makes it seem not such an ordeal.

Thank you for posting up the GTD pics - looks fantastic! My local dealer will not see one until September....

Are the silver surfaces of the alloys painted or polished?
