Acid wash + plastic wheel nut covers = unhappiness

Post by wintercooled »

First time I've ever taken my Roc to be washed by someone other than myself and I'm not likely to do it again.

The wash they used for the alloys got them nice and shiney - but ate into the plastic nut covers and have ruined them (see attached) - mostly because the guy applying it was a bit spray happy.

I have ordered some new ones and they are paying for them - but just a warning if you are considering a similar thing! :-(

PS - It's easy to pop them off by the way - should have done that really.

You were lucky to get them to pay for them, if I forget to take them off, I just respray them after my first run in with this problem. bought some off ebay and they didn't fit due to different size lock nuts being used. :)

I just got some off eBay as well - only £10 so hopes not that high! Also just spent the last few hours trying to respray the wrecked ones in a deep orange colour... not entirely sure what my thinking was there - maybe that I could have one standard set and one 'jazzy' set for going to car shows etc! ;-)

Currently - not going so well - I didn't clean them first and the paint has gone all blobby.

Oh well, live and learn etc! ;-)

£10?!? I bought a set of 20 from my dealership 2 years ago for acid bleaching, they were about £3.50 total.
