Retrofit DCC or ACC

Post by eidooo »

This started kicking inside my head, Long time am looking into this issue and no help. i suppose because it is standard to have the button in europe so there is not much discussions about it.

I am in UAE, My car is considered the top to order (number 1) which should have everything. it is 2011 model.
I have fed up googiling to check if i have DCC (Dynamic/Adaptive Chasis Control) or not
ofcourse when i asked the dealer this didnt know what am talking about (!!!) -Yeah our dealer has great smart people who should work in NASA- i tried Dubai's dealer as well, also they didnt know what is it.

and if i have it, is it possible to install the button and wiring from Bold-sport
(considering that i have already ordered them , in case i dont have DCC i will keep the button to remember every morning how much i hate the dealer)

I have decoded the car options and it is as follows:

1AT = Electronic stabilization program (ESP)
1GT = Front shock absorption for high-powered engine
2FU = Leather trimmed multi-function sports steering wheel w/ Tiptronic
5RT = Right exterior mirror: convex (AGCC)
5SH = Left exterior mirror: flat (US)
3U1 = Foldable trunk cover
QG2 = No possibility of activating service interval prolongation
8AY = Radio/navigation system
8GU = Alternator 140 A
1ZA = Disc brakes, front
3FG = Glass sun roof

E0A = No special edition
1D0 = Without trailer hitch
A8I = Sports equipment
8JW = Twin headlight for driving on the right (gas discharge) w/ integrated high beam

1N3 = Speed-related variable steering assist (Servotronic)

If the car has ACC surely you'd see the button in the centre console? It has a small image of a car and the words Comfort and Sport

Just an idea, stick your head under the rear bumper and look at the shock absorbers - should have an electrical connector if they are ACC shocks

The UAE Sciroccos don't come with ACC, my R and my friends GT don't. The retrofit would be a massive job as it doesn't just alter the suspension, it adjusts the steering too.
If you're desperate for adjustable dampers, look at KW or Bilstein, both much better than the factory kit.
RS5, Scirocco R. You can never have enough R's

the only missing part from this http://www.my-gti.com/2653/volkswagen-d ... d-function is the Electronic Damping Control J250
i dont know if i can find it in VCDS http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... lectronics
I will try that tomorrow
i will try to play with the values if found, and see if there is any difference
