What Options?
Would be interesting to know what options people have taken. Also potentially useful in future to know general consensus for what options are popular to people in the future deciding on whether the factory bluetooth is worth fitting etc...

Yes, hence I ticked it (I have DSG) - though not everyone else didnickp wrote:Hill Hold Control......Doesn't that come as standard with the DSG box?
However it is optional on a manual.

Re: What Options?
Nothing - It's automatically on. Next time you're on a steep hill, take your foot off the accelerator, no need for the foot brake, you won't roll backLe_savage wrote:Does it... I never knew that. What do you need to do to make it work?jc74 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 2:54 pm

Although I would always recommend you apply the foot brake if not the handbrake, in case the system fails or someone hits into you!

Re: What Options?
Why don't you rate DAB Andy? I didn't go for it when I ordered but I keep wondering if I should. Be interested to know what people think. I had a hire car in the states last year and the DAB on that was pretty good, although I suspect the US standard is different to European.andy wrote:only option i would not have is DAB, wished i'd gone for xenons, what no mats option
Re: What Options?
reason i don't like DAB is you lose the traffic TIM function (which was great on previous VAG cars), also has fits with the RDS not kicking in becasue of the FM stations for some reason, my area does not transmit DAB and i think the aerial looks s#ite, sound quality is great though

Re: What Options?
DAB is great IMO, it should be a cheaper option though. Since having DAB i have found a bunch of new stations to listen to all in digital quality. DAB in the UK is different to digital radio in the states which is broadcast using satellites.PGN wrote:Why don't you rate DAB Andy? Re: What Options?
With DAB you still have the option of listening to normal FM radio. When i got it as an option i was under the impression FM transmissions were getting turned off soon, however i've since found out it is not until 2017. So if you think your still gonna have your roc in 8 yrs time its probably a good optionI'd miss all the pirate stations

Interesting. Good point.
Shame DAB has to have that unattractive Bee sting aerial though.

More importantly (for me), you can't have DAB with Satnav.nickp wrote: Interesting. Good point.

Re: What Options?
Interesting to see most people agree that electric seats aren't worth it. I'm surprised the bluetooth got so few takers, though I'm guessing because the VW one is so restrictive with its phone support, it's hardly worth it.
Also surprised how many people took a CD changer.
And a lot of people seemed to have opted for leather seats, despite the huge cost premium!
Parking sensors obviously seems a no brainer!
Due for deliver today, and glad most people seem to agree with most of my chosen options on the whole

Re: What Options?
Yes, me to, but then it is possible some people have ticket it only because they have it in the car even though it was standard rather than an option on the non SAT-NAV cars.jc74 wrote: Also surprised how many people took a CD changer.
It's a little bit like you ticking the Hill hold option despite the fact that you have it as standard with your DSG box... (well any auto, really)
Only reason I have it is because I took a car already on the system to be built otherwise no way I would have opted for it.
Enjoy picking up your car today!!!

Re: What Options?
Ahh, I didn't realise the 6 CD changer was standard on non-SatNav cars! In my mind that seems a bit silly of VW, it must have been cheaper for them to simply provie a USB socket, and more convienent for 90% of people to have the extra storage space instead of the changer?robrob wrote: Yes, me to, but then it is possible some people have ticket it only because they have it in the car even though it was standard rather than an option on the non SAT-NAV cars.

Car is great in general just need to sort out a few issues regarding the parking sensors and missing iPod cables and satnav DVD...
