Hi
just got my scirocco a few weeks ago, since having it I have noticed that my average mpg gauge keeps resetting itself every time I turn of the ignition.
Is this correct?
if not how can I sort this?
My old car would just keep calculating until I reset it.
I know it is prob a very simple answer.
Mpg keeps resetting

When you look at the MFD is there a small 1 visible in the corner? If so, that's the average for the trip. If you press one of the buttons on the steering wheel (can't remember which one without sitting in the car but think it's top right) it'll change to a 2 which is the long term average.

Re: Mpg keeps resetting
As rising roc says screen 1 is trip average, this resets if the car isn't used for 2 hours (go do lots of trips with only short breaks in between & its the average of all of those trips)
Screen 2 is longer term average but resets at 19999 miles with the highline mfd (9999 with the midline mfd) or when you choose to reset it, I use it to check mpg per tank of fuel. When you choose to reset there are other '2' screens that will to (miles since last reset, average speed, etc)

Re: Mpg keeps resetting
Memory 2 also resets when the elapsed time reaches 99hrs 59mins, so the distance never reaches any of those theoretical values before being reset.trix wrote:As rising roc says screen 1 is trip average, this resets if the car isn't used for 2 hours (go do lots of trips with only short breaks in between & its the average of all of those trips)
