Firstly, does your car definitely have Bluetooth fitted? If it was factory fit it should be under the drivers seat iirc, if you do find a post please can you post the part number up as in that age of car it may be the earlier rsap Bluetooth

Secondly, which cable are you trying to use? You should have an mdi cable with an ipod connector on the other end, guessing the car is second hand so it may have got lost along the way you can pick them up from eBay for less than £10 http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/roccop ... Connection" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
using the mdi usb cable and your Apple cable will not work

Third, I've just popped your topic into a more relevant section of the forum

Even if your car has Bluetooth, it's unlikely to work with the iPhone 5. As your car is a 2009, the bluetooth module supplied at that time only supports phones with rSAP protocol which is a hanful of old Nokias.

Later cars are supplied with modules which support Hands Free Profile (HFP), which is what you need for modern phones like the iPhone5.

You can swap out the bluetooth module which is under the driver's seat and it's a simple plug and play task. There have been a number of threads on this, so do a search and you will find what part numbers are needed.

To connect to the MDI socket you need the lightning adaptor

My iPhone 5 works perfectly with my 9WZ bluetooth..(something silly but check if your phone is on silent...if it is it won't work)

I've tried using a lighting adapter and although i have no problems using my phone through the cars bluetooth system i still cant get it to play the music on my phone.

Have you got it connected via tbe MDI and connected through bluetooth?

Switch off bluetooth and see if you can play music via MDI.

Disconnect from MDI and try and play music via bluetooth.

Might be the problem, might not.

I've got an Andtoid phone and either playvmusic off USB or via bluetooth off the phone.
