@Nighthawk was fun mate, hope you get the remap done and potentially a new exhaust - i don't see many R's in sheffield so made a good change!

are they seriously £154 ? i thought lowering costed alot more than that. Ive got a huge grin on my face now. defo need to lower mine at that cost. would it be on the same wheel gap arch width as what it is in this R?
I picked the car up from a VW dealership down south, then noticed the old owner of it was on here, quite a coincidence.

Yeah springs are cheaper, if you add fitting you'll probably be looking at £200-250. I got a 30mm drop using springs but the previous owner had a 40mm drop using coilovers. i wouldn't go any lower than 30mm personally as I've had quite a few scrapes on speed bumps since lowering...
Thought I recognised the interior. Been trying to weigh up how low to go with my R, have a number of speed bumps near where I am so was worried about catching. What's it like over all, was thinking of going 25-30 mm but not sure.

I dropped 30mm and put a apr exhaust on, been to a few garages that have attempted to lift the exhaust higher (this seems to be whats catching). If i had the choice again, i would drop 25mm not 30. Nothing worse than hearing it catch or even a big bang noise on the exhaust box.
If you keep the standard exhaust on and drop 30mm though you might not have any problems, the previous owner said he never caught anything and he was down by 40mm. Do you have your R in the showroom? Wouldn't mind seeing a few pics
