Re: Android or Apple?
I'm currently on an iPhone4 and due an upgrade. Not fussed by the iPhone 5 yet as I don't think there's enough of a difference for the contract commitment. Going to wait and see what appears from the 5S or 6 which is apparently due in June.
S4 looks good but massive for a phone!

That's the thing phones are getting bigger and bigger..
Impressed with the Galaxy note 2 but its like having an iPad in your pocket lol
If that's the case iPhone 5s or 6 is due in June I could just wait and be patient .....

If you do a quick search that seems to be the general consensus. Just don't want to get tied into a two year contract when a new phone is about to appear to supersede it in two months.B19_BRV wrote:If that's the case iPhone 5s or 6 is due in June I could just wait and be patient .....

I'm in the same boat. I've been due an upgrade for 3 weeks but I'm waiting to see what the next iPhone is going to be like. Currently got a iPhone 4 and theres not enough different features to the iPhone 5 for me to get one.
I'd say wait to see what next iPhone is going to be like.

Go Samsung. Or to be more precise, go android. Coming from iOS and switching to android it's almost embarrassing how far behind iOS actually is. It's restrictive, about 3 years behind in features, and fresh out of new ideas.
The only thing it has going for it is external build quality, and to be fair, iOS is still more stable (glitch free) than android.

@sincs: very true apple is always behind features
Must say the true multi-tasking is amazing on the galaxy s3...
Apple may have a 12mp camera?
If that's the case I'm going android

You have a valid point it is behind on features . Unless you jailbreak your iPhone then it's a different story. My mums got a s3 and I think the build quality is poor. Considering its valued the same as iPhone 4, the iPhone is miles in front when it comes to build quality and feel. New htc looks promising though maybe that could be an option.

Even a jailbroken iphone can't compare to an unjailbroken/unrooted Android phone. But root an Android phone and your even further ahead of IOS.whiteDevil_170 wrote:You have a valid point it is behind on features . Unless you jailbreak your iPhone then it's a different story. Even in stock form android/Samsung offers: widgets... proper multitasking (e.g. floating video/picture in picture)... gestures (e.g. place your palm over the screen to silence incoming calls)... the ability to replace all stock apps/clients with 3rd party ones (messaging etc etc)... access and manipulation of the phone's various sensors (for example, I have an app that allows me to have certain things happen when my phone is placed in a specified position.. e.g. to save battery power overnight I've configured it so if I put my phone face down (so on my bedside table) between the hours or midnight and 6am my data connection switches off and only activates for 30 seconds every couple of hours to download content).... expandable memory/replaceable batteries... and the list goes on.
As for Apple build quality.... it is very good, but as most phones are cased anyway it soon becomes a forgotten positive. It's the OS that you're faced with day to day which IMO is by far the most important thing.
The internals of a Samsung S3 are just as good as the iphone 5 (in fact, there is a costing somewhere that shows that the internal components of the S3 are actually more expensive than the iphone 5).
Apple really needs to go some on their next phone/OS to not be left so far behind that even the most loyal Apple fanboy doesn't jump ship.
It might sound like I think iOS/iPhone is rubbish.... I don't, I had one for a few years. On the whole I liked it, but I found certain things very irritating, mainly the need to use iTunes to transfer anything to your phone and no expandable memory.

It's the only phone I've owned that has carried on working after a spell down the toilet.B19_BRV wrote:That's it! I'm gonna get a Nokia 100, green non coloured screen and play snakes!!![]()
Although I'm sure android has an app for that.
