Ok what box have I not ticked or unticked ??
I have just bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i yesterday it will pair up to the Bluetooth in the car no problem but refuses to download the Phonebook from the phone to the car.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you sort it or can anyone give me some advice please
I have already paired several other phones and phonebooks 3 in total so far with no problems? Is there a limit as to how many phone you can pair ?
Any help really appreciated

Re: Bluetooth Phonebook problem Samsung Galaxy
I had a similar problem recently when I updated my phone. First thing to check where the contacts are stored. I ended up covering all bases and storing them on the phone, SIM and on Google.
Other thing is that when it reads the phone for the contacts a pop up appears on the phone and you have to OK, the first time you do it

Re: Bluetooth Phonebook problem Samsung Galaxy
Cheers Cuprabob
Sorted !!
To add a little bit more. When you pair up it does indeed prompt a request but if you are still in the Bluetooth settings page you can't respond to the request.
Once you have made your phone discoverable press the home button and then pull down the status/notification bar from the top of the phone screen then when the request prompt arrives you are in the right place to accept it and download the new phone book.

I'm eternally in your debt, it's took me 5 days to find this info elsewhere with no luck! It's simple when you know how.
Re: Bluetooth Phonebook problem Samsung Galaxy
I have had the same niggle for the last 8 days since I bought my new Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 phone. - trying to pair up with a VW Scirocco.
I also tried all that I knew to fix the directory but got nowhere.
I have now got this solved!!!
I went into my nearest EE/ Orange shop and Craig - god of phones knew the problem and fixed it in 30 seconds.
Cuprabob was correct but it seems you only need to put all your contacts on to the SIM card then the car can read them.
There is a notification which comes to your phone asking for permission (in about 2 minutes) to let the car see your contacts and once you agree
Best to sit and watch and wait for the message.
Great forum. Thanks to all contributers.
