Rear Diffuser
Does anybody know where you can get an alternative rear diffuser to the standard R gloss black. Looking for one with fins similar to the one on the back of the latest Focus RS for example, still in gloss black to match but more race like.

Re: Rear Diffuser
No idea i'm affraid, although I would be interested in seeing what you find out.
I think one of the problems we have is that very few people have got an R, fewer still are the type who would mod it in any way. Therefore, lots of mods haven't been done before as seen by Chungster with a relatively obvious exhaust. Best thing to do would maybe do some research with manufacturers?

Re: Rear Diffuser
Abt's rear end has the "fins" ur looking for, but it also changes the exhaust set up too (2 x vertical twin pipes)

The GT24 car's rear diffuser would be nice if available but its not.

but otherwise there's nothing out there cos like Strat says the car is still releatively new and for all intents and purposes there is nowt wrong with the OEM gloss black part.
Nothing to stop you making a one off tho if you want that "race" look.
I'm more the "all go no show" kinda modder and i like the look of the R as it is so wont be doing any bodywork mods (unless i can find that concept x front splitter)
I can't find any pics of the Concept X rear end tho so not sure what they've done to that.

Re: Rear Diffuser
thanks for the advise guys, the concept x splitter front and back looks good !! I am not one for mods usually but on this occasion somthing subtle like the concept x spliters ( but not the sides) would look just that litttle bit different but not in ur face !! if anybody finds out where these can be bought and fitted please post. Ditto if you know any manufactures who make bespoke diffusers. I thought of contacting VW racing they must have some ideas ??

Re: Rear Diffuser
For the competition R Cup VW Motorsport have actually not modified the rear diffuser or front splitter...mike cooper wrote: I thought of contacting VW racing they must have some ideas ??

I assume the GT24 splitter and diffuser which where raced in 09 must have been bespoke one off items for VW motorsport, undoubted for silly money.
Carbonmods (http://www.carbonmods.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) could probably make you one, no idea on price.

Re: Rear Diffuser
Did anyone ever find out if they can get these made. I reckon with a big of digging we could find a company to make out of something cheaper than carbon.
The rear bumper on the concept. Is that just a normal. Bumper with the additional splitter?

Re: Rear Diffuser
this company does a "ford focus rs" look-alike rear diffuser. also the front splitter isn't bad either (better than concept x in my opinion). saw this in another discussion on this forum

Ok, here's a few options that are pretty subtle but will look good.
