Odd/annoying inner film on windscreen??
Hi there, am wondering if any of you know how to cure this problem. It is clearly visible when the car is misted or driving in rain, its definately on the inside as ive fully cleaned the outer with tardis and fastglass. Its quite annoying!
Any information would be great
Cheers chris

I sometimes get like a disc shape showing up on the side windows. It happened on my MK2 TT as well, i wondered if it was something like a suction cup holder that they use when building the cars. I've used glass cutting compound and still cant get rid of it.

Its a special Glass Cleaning Paste made for doing this job.
The clue may be in the website detail. Use a silicon type cleaner containing abrasive on the glass surface.

I tried to upload a picture but it failed unfortunately, i have cleaned the inside with tardis too thinking it was just a build up of dirt but it hasnt cleared this (rough to the touch) inner film. Thanks rw1 i will try that cleaner and see if it does the job. Thanks guys

Disk shape you say? Not that annoying leftover of when they fit the windscreen in the factory is it? Had that on my old golf for years

It still occurs in production..... and while I think on.....
As that "remover" above is German supply, it may be worth taking some neat VW Screenwash aka G052 164 M2
or Carpro Eraser on a soft rag and rubbing the affected glass area.
Worth a try if they are to hand to lift the silicon marks.

Mine has the disc shapes appear when windscreen is really misted up.
I just ignore it, soon goes when it's demisted

I wonder if any pre-wax cleaner would do the job then? I might give it a try.

Re: Odd/annoying inner film on windscreen??
Cheers for the info lads i will try out the neat screenwash and the cleaner and see if that clears it , if not it will be a case of just living with it till its next service is up then asking the dealership if they have anything strong enough to remove it. I will give the pre wax cleaner a try today and see if it does anything...fingers crossed!
