Real MPG for 140tdi bluemotion
Real MPG for 140tdi bluemotion
Looking at getting a 140 Scirocco TDI blumotion. Does anyone have any real life mpg figure they can give me? Variety of different journeys would help a lot.
Cheers.
Cheers.

46 mpg the worst 61 mpg the best Averaging about 52 mpg driving 60/40 Motorway/City within legal limits but accelerating better than surrounding traffic in general. Current mileage 26000 mls but got better after 12000 mls

Over 21 months and 14,300 miles, on mine (which is a DSG so slightly worse MPG than a manual), my worst is 44mpg (really cold weather with a lot of defrosting and heated seats etc), best was 72.9 mpg on a 180mile motorway cruise in September just gone on cruise control at 75mph.
My regular work journey consists of urban/ town centre to work (approx 12 miles) in the morning, and 70% motorway / 30% A-roads on the way home for 14 miles (don't ask ), and overall on a typical bi-weekly fill up, I average about 45-48mpg (approx 420-450miles).

Mine's the pre-BMT 140Tdi and I'm showing up about 50-60mpg for my daily commute 12 miles mostly motorway depending on time of year, heaviness of my right foot, AC use etc. I know in truth it's a bit down on this. Shorter inner-city journeys I'm closer to 35-45mpg - this will be much better on the BMT. I'm getting 550-600 miles out a tank.

I've done 7500 mile in my BMT. Most of my driving is a 55 mile each way commute - 60% rural A road, 10% city and 30% dual carriageway with 2-3 adults on board. I typically get 53-55mph. Worst has been 47mph which was mainly short journey town driving in cold weather.

Thank you all for the replies. Very good mpg from the 140tdi engines. I will take that into account when buying, thanks again.

To be fair, it is the most economical model in the range, therefore if it doesn't live up to your expectations then a Rocco isn't for you

I'd also suggest you search on here for discussions on 140v170 models. General opinion is that the 170 is a far better car for no major loss in mpg or upfront cost if being new.Aaz wrote:Thank you all for the replies. Very good mpg from the 140tdi engines. Re: Real MPG for 140tdi bluemotion
Have got a GTDi170 and I do about 40 miles commute there and back mostly A Roads. Average between 48-52 when it's fairly quiet, maybe 45-48 when it's busier.
Re: Real MPG for 140tdi bluemotion
Makes me wonder what the BMT technology actually achieves in mpg terms over the non BMT 140?
