New tyres to replace the Pirelli P7s that were factory fit. Fronts shot at 13400 miles due to tyre wear on the central width (as if over inflated), and not much wear on the outer areas. Seems to be a common issue with these tyres - either VW filler flap has a sticker with incorrect (high) pressures, or these self sealing tyres are stiffer across the main width of the tread due to the sealing band that they wear more centrally than at the edges.

The rear tyres are immaculate and have normal wear.

Got 2 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 @ £164 each from Costco, but had the expected rigmerole of them insisting new tyres go on the back and the Pirellis go on the front. I told them I didn't want them on the front due to their wearing characteristics (as seen by the 2 tyres just taken off) but wouldn't take no for an answer so i'll have to rotate them back myself at the weekend. Safety issues - so they must think that a brand new car with unbedded brakes and 4 new tyres is a death trap.

Can't fault the price, only cheaper ones were on tyreshopper (£161 each), but they were W speed rated Michelin Pilot 3's not Y rating.

Removed the drivers door card to chase down a rattle, fingers crossed its cured.
Removed TDI badge, the rear looks much cleaner now.
Also adjusted the high beam level to avoid lighting up 747s and reset dipped beam level. Just waiting for the light to go so I can tweak.
Sold up years ago :)

Forgot to add on this while I was doing it I used the vw wheel brace for the first time. It shattered. Not impressed.
