Sill Protectors

Post by Jonny96 »

I've noticed on some of the other guys pictures, that you have chrome sill protectors with SCIROCCO on them! Not only do they protect the sill, but they look really good, nice little touch! I wasn't offered them with mine and i can't find them anywhere on the options list! Don't know if guys can tell me how to get them and how much they cost to purchase and fit?

Thanks!

Fitted them on mine about a week ago after recieving them as a birthday present. I would have thought the delaer would fit them for free but it is really easy to do yourself providing the weather is dry and above 16 degrees. You can find the details on the VW website, if you download the Scirocco brochure and scroll to the end you will see "dealer supplied accesories". There are lots of little extras listed here, sun blind, boot liner, mats, sills etc....
08/11 - 12/13 2.0 TSI R DSG, Black / Black Vienna
01/09 - 08/11 2.0 TSI GT DSG, Black / Truffle Vienna

I got some the other day, simple to fit and even come wiht a handy alcohol wipe to clean the paintwork, from past experience I would advise to use a heat gun to warm the sticky tapes to ensure a excellent adhesion as if ambient temp is too low they will appear to stick but may well come loose down the line.

Oh, and they do look lovely. :)

I ordered the premium door sill`s but now wished I had gone for the cheaper ones as they seem to cover more of the door sill  .

What is people's opinions of the door sill protectors on a viper? I'm looking at my car today trying to picture them there but not sure they would look right. Has anybody had them put onto a viper?

I'm getting these too! People riding in rocco always decide to step on the sills when they get out and scratch them!!! :grumpy:

Can someone post a picture of viper green with premium sills? I think I will get them, because I already seen some small scratches on paint.

Definite 'must have' accessory - blagged 10% discount at the local VW dealer as well - just said I am a Scirocco Forum member and I understand I am entitled to a discount .... smiled nicely and got them fitted for free. Give it a try!
