what front bumper is this?

Post by planeteuropa »

hi guys just wondering if anyone can id the front bumper in this pic. its seems to have agressive black fins at both sides and is broken up with patches of white bumper.. this is different to the standard bumper i've seen on all the uk models. anyone know what this is and were to find it?

Could just be a standard bumper that's been painted white? Several people on this forum have done something similar.

It has been painted as mine. All explained here, Painted Front Bumper Lower Grille with various minor style differences.

Painted Lower Grille is still like new on its 3rd birthday. No chips or blemishes.

thanks guys. so this is basically just a paint job that would be done in a body-shop, there are no different bumper panels that need to be purchased? if so thats great, i think it looks brilliant and agressive with this mod. thanks guys

Correct. Did mine in a bodyshop. Main lower grille and tow hook cover are cheap enough buy as spare parts and paint before fitting. My originals are in the loft.

Very simple, the car hadn't been delivered so I bought spares from the local VW Parts Dept. and had them pre-prepared as I wanted it done immediately before the cold wet winter weather set in. They aren't that expensive and the idea was to fit the "painted" ones on a new Scirocco around about now. That ain't going to happen now with VW's extended warranty cover becoming available. Don't think the originals will fit a MK4 in 3 years time
