2.0 TSI MPG
So, I've clocked up a fair few miles already in my Scirocco and have a decent idea of the MPG's I'm going to get, but I'm interested how they compare to other people in the petrol GT?
Around town: 30MPG
Motorway: 35 MPG
A-Roads: 39 MPG
Overall I've averaged about 34 so far, which is 2MPG better than I got from my 1.6 Clio, so pretty happy with that! However, I'm not too sure if there's anyway of seeing "lieftime" MPG on the MFD?
Cheers.

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
If you have the MPG display (Consumption 1) on the MFD press the OK button (Middle one on the right hand side) on the steering wheel, it should then give you 'Consumpton 2' MPG. That is the lifetime MPG.

Just remember it automatically resets after 99h 59mins or 9,999 miles whichever comes first.nuroc wrote:If you have the MPG display (Consumption 1) on the MFD press the OK button (Middle one on the right hand side) on the steering wheel, it should then give you 'Consumpton 2' MPG. You can also reset it manually by holding the ok button down for circa. 3 secs
Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
as cuprabob says it is not quite the 'lifetime' mpg its the '100' hour ( or '20' hour if you have the midline mfd) mpg

Ah, I did wonder. I thought the garage had reset mine when I got it serviced?

Thanks, I'll have a look when I get in it next. Done 600 miles since I picked it up 5 days ago, so need to slow down a bit..

Those numbers look about right, although if you're getting 39mpg on an A road you're not trying hard enough (should be more like 25 )
I've had mine up to about 43mpg once or twice when I was cruising on the motorway and not in a rush but hovering around the 30 mark on average is about right.

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
Ahh and well.. I haven't used sport that much on my DSG box yet, so guessing that will effect my MPG on A-roads a lot, also around here there isn't much speed altering on A-Roads. Think when I met an AMG Mercedes on the Chester High Road it was more like 15Kev wrote:Those numbers look about right, although if you're getting 39mpg on an A road you're not trying hard enough (should be more like 25 )

I also don't seem to ever bother with Comfort suspension. Makes the steering feel a bit too loose and somehow the ride in Sport seems comfier on most roads.

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
I don't use sport at all on A roads but paddle shift is brilliant fun. That's where the petrol goes!
If you're near Chester and you want a good blat, head out to Broxton.
Comfort is good for motorways where you're just wafting along. It's definitely softer than normal mode.

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
Went in a friends S3 the other day, which he has had mapped by RS tuning in Leeds and is running around 320bhp. On a 20 mile journey of A roads, around town and on the motorway it was averaging 34mpg and he was giving it some stick! 34mpg is better than what i get in my 2.0T overall!

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
So far, my MPG display seems to be rather optimistic. The real MPG is about 5mpg lower than the display claims typically. Anyone else?

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
Not noticed that to be honest. Done 720 miles this week on around £130 I think. So my display is about right, if anything slightly below what I've actually had. - Went to Crewe yesterday, which was a fun drive and ate a lot of fuel on those A-RoadsFifer wrote:So far, my MPG display seems to be rather optimistic. Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
Have you crossed checked it with your own calculations? I hadn't thought of doing that as I assumed that the computer was fairly accurate. Mind you as the speedo is way out, if the mpg is based on the same measurements then it will be wrong too.Fifer wrote:So far, my MPG display seems to be rather optimistic. Mmmmm. Must have a look at this.

As ever this place is a mine of useful information for Roc ownersCuprabob wrote: Just remember it automatically resets after 99h 59mins or 9,999 miles whichever comes first.

Love the way that Trix follows that up by rounding it to 100 hours But 99h 59min is what it says in the manual.
Didn't know it was less for mid-line MFDs.

I didn't either till I queried it with the dealer thinking I may have developed a problem earlier this year, turns out they revised the manual to detail it eventually but typically not when the changed originated (release of 1.4 & 140tdi (non gt specs))

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
Yes, I always calculate mpg between fill-ups by checking how much it takes to fill the tank and using the odometer reading (assuming of course, the Roc odometer is accurate). Different fuel pumps might cut off at slightly different levels, but that should average out over a few tanks. My roc has done about 2700 miles from new now and every fill-up has been out by about 5mpg (the MFD reading high).ZephyR wrote:Have you crossed checked it with your own calculations? Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
I've measured every tank since I got my Roc 12k miles ago and the MFD on mine is typically about 6-7% optimistic. My calculated MPG over those 12k is 29.43.

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
So do you reset the Lifetime mpg counter each time you fill up?
