TSi starting engine.

Hey guys,,

So basically for the past 2 months my Scirocco on startup revs up to about 1 1/2 - 2 revs then slowly goes to idle under 1.

It never happend when i first had the vehicle, ive had it since Decemeber, So just for the past couple of months its been happening.

Any idea before i take VW up on it?

Im not convinced its just warming up etc, Surely it would of happend when i had the car from the start right?

Its pretty much everytime i start the car as long as its not been driven for a few hours

Would much appreciate some feedback

On start up of the 1.4, there is a rpm kick whether its warm or cold. The colder it is, the more the rpm kick immediately after start. Happens just before the EGR mode starts.

Don't forget, the engine has now been run in.... less friction.

This is normal. My car does it only in winter. Once the summer came it stopped doing it cause I live in Dubai which is pretty hot and the engine never cools enough between two trips.

yes it seems normal on mine too... no issue there.
