Ammending a new order

Hi All,

I have recently ordered a new Scirocco R. However i now want the recaro seats included in the build. I rang the VW garage and they said that the order cannot be ammended, even though the car is not due to be built for another 2 months?! He said that if i wanted to amend the order we would have to go back to square one and start all over and loose my deposit.

Is this really true?

With my dealer you can change the order up until the factory has confirmed the build date and have done so.

thats not good i have been given a week number which i presume is the buid date (they said it will be some time in October)

I`m the same
my build date is week 37 (sept 10) i tried to amend my order about a month ago and they told me if the order is comfirmed thats it
only wanted to change the stereo to rns 510

Sounds like salesman bull to me. Never mind changing the options, I changed my order from a GT to an R-Line with no problems

terrible...surely all they need to do is send a quick email or change the order on the system...its ridiculous! the car is not even built yet?!

Did you have a build date confirmed?

They said something about it being in "state 20" or something?!

Must admit I didn't have a build week confirmed but I changed my order in early April and the car was delievered and registered on 01 June!

Have any of you queried this with vw customer services? (it may be helpful to have your commission number from your dealer for this)

Spoke to customer services,They said if order is confirmed you can`t change anything

i think i will just bite the bullet and see if i can get seats added once i have the car.

I still dont understand why they cant change something (which is probably a few details on the system) as the car has not been built yet.

Because they have committed parts from the suppliers as "just in time" delivery. If they didn't freeze the build, the production line would be a mess with customers changing things.
