Hello all,
Was looking through the VW website and noticed that the garage I got my car from was a approved VW garage. However they don't have the DasWelt Auto scheme going? This has me curious. The car I got has had one mature (50+ year old) owner and the service book has a VW stamped service approx every 9k miles upto 50k so all sounds well. However how thorough are these services and will the 24s4 ecu update have been carried out since it has had servicing so frequently from this VW garage? Also how thorough are their used car checks before selling it on to a customer? I really don't want to find out there are some underlying problems with the car in about a years time!

Have you looked on the boot floor for the sticker as I wrote the other day for you !?WonderBang wrote: will the 24s4 ecu update have been carried out since it has had servicing so frequently from this VW garage?

If its not there, ask the dealer at which service. They don't put in the service log book at the back/

Hello RR1,
That's the thing that sticker is not in the metal floor where the spare wheel is. There is only 1 sticker and that is for the cars model and extras codes. And seen as it has been serviced so frequently I don't understand how it could have been missed as apparently the dealer gets a warning message on the vagcom

OK, then there is one other place for the sticker but I think you would have spotted on rising blue. On the driver's door pillar.
Failing that, then either someone with VCDS to look at the engine ECU controller VCDS screen and post the result up or provide the engine ECU Controller - 01 Autoscan section.
Or just ask the dealer to look at the car service records and confirm if it is done & when. I would certainly ask them as the campaign sticker should have been put on the car boot floor as a record.

Re: Northampton VW
I will check the door pillar when I get home. Anybody in the South London area willing to help? By the way before collection I called the dealer and asked about the ECU updates and he did tell me "all recalls will have been done" and the fact that it has had about 6 services in 2.5 years there's a 99% chance the 24s4 was done but knowing my luck that 1% would be my car
Re: Northampton VW
Just go in & ask if its been done as Rw1 has said to you before the cars record on the vw system will show if its been done or not.
The garage didn't bother to write on my boot sticker or service book when mine had 24s4 so I've written it on myself

Wow just called them up and a very helpful lady just looked up the history for 24s4 and turns out it was applied to the car in November, 2 months after sale so very early into its lifespan. Very happy with that!
