Rear discs on 2.0TSI

Post by The Axeman »

Hi all,

Did a search but still a little confused.

Apparently some 2.0 TSI's have 288mm rear discs and some have 255mm rear discs. Was this an update/change or is this specific to some models.

I can understand if the 200PS rocs had 255's and then gave the 210PS's 288mm discs, but mine is a 210PS and as memory serves me are 255mm diameter?

Can someone explain why/how there are differences? I'm assuming if mine has 255's I can't fit 288's either?

Cheers in advance.

this issue cropped up as i had a set of mk5 gti rear brakes in black for the roc when i put the porsche 4 pots on and rears

rear callipers are different on 288 and also the grit guards, you can fit them as its plug and play but need, disks, callipers and guards

i still have the rear callipers gathering dust and some brand new GTI grit guards if you fancy the change and don't want red :)

Ok, i'm with you.

But what I'm getting at specifically is: Do all 2.0 TSI's have the same size rear discs, and if not why?!

Mines a 2010 210 BHP model so i cant understand why it would have smaller discs than a MK5 Golf.

Won't need the calipers but thatnks for the offer!
