My Rocco on Airlift V2 & Bentley Splits

Post by scott.taylor »

Thought id start a new build thread since ive started tinkering with the car already lol.

Some of yous might know my old Rocco:

Well, I traded that in on the 26th May and got this instead:

Image

Its a 2.0 GT TDi Bluemotion with DSG box.
9 months old with 7500 on the clock and coated in the lovely Indium Grey :D I absolutely Love the colour !

Anyway, picked it up on the Saturday at 9:30am, swapped my HIDs over from my last Rocco within 15 mins lol.
Then once I drove it back to my mates garage, I had the Coilovers on, and the rear was de-badged/de-wipered all within about

4 hours of owning it :)

Before

After (Not very good picture)

Coils fitted.

After a long wait and lots of let downs, they finally got finished (not 100% happy with how they turned out, buy hey, i did

wait 2.5 months for them to get done, so i was just happy to fire them on.

Merc AMG Wheels, Fully Polished, 18x8 and 18x9

A wee trial fit (being proper scene y0 lol)

And then the good bit...

LOVE that last pic :D

Notice the Orange Sidelights ?
got bored of the white LEDs and fancied a change U.S style :)

Image
Image

I also replaced every bulb in the car with White LEDs again, (11 in total)

And a wee Bonus that should save me A LOT of money...

Image

I think ive done no bad for only having the car for 9 days :D

Thanks for reading !

I was actually looking at the split rim version of these wheels with a candy red center but could not decide if I should search for something in 19 instead. Hmmm decisions...

Thanks for the comments guys :)
For those wanting to know about the lights,

The HIDs were just bought off a guy my mate knows, unsure of what make they are, just H7 6000k jobbies as far as I know lol.
And the sidelights are just painted orange :P couldnt be bothered ordering new orange bulbs, so whipped out the paint and just gave them 2 light coats and fitted them about 8 hours later after baking them.

Love the wheels mate, stance is great as well. What tyres you running on them? I just bought some rotiform blq's 19x8.5 but the tyres are 215 by 35 so stretched too much for me bumping up and down curbs so looking to change. Yours look spot on!

My tyres are 205/40's on the fronts (8" wheel) and 225/40's on the back (9" wheel)
I don't know what you should get for yours then, I would run a 215/35 but maybe you should go for a 225/40 or something for more padding lol.

Think I paid about £45 for all of them when I had my last car, and I just took them all out and out them in this one, so kinda cost me nothing to re-use them again :)

Finally, the thing ive been waiting months to do...

Image

Started by removing the spare wheel etc.
Image

Cutting a bit of MDF and laying it in
Image

Ran the Loom right up the car, under the sills and under the dash behind the glovebox and up through a grommet that you can see here behind the Turbo
Image

And across to the battery with a 30A fuse fitted
Image

Then I started fixing everything down and sorting out all the plumbing of the tank n stuff.
Image
Image

Since these pics, everything has been resealed and tightened and the wiring is all okay, the compressor starts and runs continuously without any problems. So does the ECU and Digital Controller.

2 more days until I get the airlines ran, the Bags bolted on and the Front-right Chassis Leg Notched !

Pics to follow ;)
