Mine has gone, car: 2.0tsi Oct 2008 with 71k on the clock.
The garage have sourced the part for about £240, roughly 3-4 hours to replace it - I'm looking at £650+
I'd recommend to anyone to have this checked out under warranty as out of warranty its not an easy pill to swallow

Re: EPC light: My car is "chugging!"
:grumpy: This happened to my car on Friday, although I have the constant exhaust light - the EPC came on for the first time yesterday and has since gone. My car is 5 years old in October, so far done 71k, car only chugs when idle and when spontaneously putting the foot down - speaking to one of my m...

Re: Electric Window Issues - broken motor?
Today the exact same thing happened to my passenger side window (crunch/grind/bang) - can't see any wires though, will need to take it to a VW dealer tomorrow, I have a 58 plate too from October 2008.

Re: headlamp washers not working
Yeah according to the manual every 1st and 5th time, will not work when set to 0, however will still work if you only have the sidelights on. I have blown the fuse in the past when there was snow built up, forgot to wipe it off from the sensors - best not to use it in cold temperatures too as it fre...

Re: New Tyres needed
Rehmondo: Glad you've got the community spirit, mutual back-scratching etc, your original thread just read as a chancer walking into a garage and asking them to fit something for nothing that they hadn't supplied. In your case, you should be able to get SP01s supplied as unfitted for about £120 eac...

Re: New Tyres needed
Rehmondo - why would a local garage fit tyres you bought elsewhere, for free? We have family businesses of our own in the area, one in particular is an Indian takeaway we've had for 26 years, and a lot of our customers work in garages or own garages, they just can't meet internet prices sometimes t...

New Tyres needed
So I've done 19k miles and the front 2 tyres need replacing very soon, I can't really afford the Dunlop SP01's that are on it, so I was looking at Avon ZZ3 which I can get £87 inc Vat and get a local garage to fit them hopefully for free. So looking to order the 235/40 R18's, can anyone tell me what...
