Re: VW Recall
Just saw it on the news yep. 7 speed dsg..that's me then. On my last 7 speed dsg rocco in very hot weather I used to get a loud squeak on acceleration. I reported it to dealer but nothing ever came of it. I think this problem could possibly be related as it would logically be a gear change drop to a...

Re: RNS315
Hey thanks Char All sounds very technical. If you've got 19k tracks you obviously know what you are doing. I use an old version of Windows Media Player to rip the CDs. The ones I ripped we're all bought but most of them were circa 10 years old or more. In the end I ripped a few CDs to MP3 at 320 and...

Re: ACC and Not ACC
Cheers Drfez. After driving it a bit more I'm convinced that sounds right. The normal setting is very good but it just feels a little light after 3 years of ACC in Sport which to my mind was perfect.

Re: RNS315 Navigation Without Radio On?
Yep, mute the other audio but the sat nav audio will continue. I think if you turn the radio/media volume all the way down with the knob or the multifunction wheel volume control it auto stops/mutes playback. But the nav still works.

RNS315
Jeeeez am I getting hacked off with this unit. I got my 2nd Scirocco yesterday with the RNS315 that Ive never had before. I noticed that the sound was pretty poor (but then I had dynaudio before) and I was playing mainly MP3 files from the SD card. A mate told me to try some CDs as the source qualit...

Re: ACC and Not ACC
Cheers Tom Yes the base model 1.4 tsi 160 had ACC as standard but there seem to be a few changes on the new version. The new 1.4 tsi 160 has the RNS135 sat nav as standard which is nice. It also gets Bluetooth and DAB and a multifunction steering wheel as standard which also means if you have a DSG ...

ACC and Not ACC
Hi I've had a 2010 1.4 TSI 160 for the last 3 years. It had ACC and to be honest it was in SPORT about 95% of the time. I've now got a 2013 1.4 TSI 160 with no ACC and I just wondered if the setup on the non ACC car was basically the NORMAL setting on ACC. The new car doesn't feel quite as firm in r...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Ordered my Candy White 1.4 TSI 160 mid July and occording to the My Volkswagen order tracker it was built this week (w/c 22/9) and is now in shipping. The tracker was a bit odd because mid September I had a confirmed build of w/c 22/9 and I have checked progress on build all week. It has never shown...

1.4 TSI 160 DSG Pearl Black
New 1.4 160 DSG . Love the engine and gearbox. It's got Donington 17" wheels which seem quite rare although they are standard on non GT models. Was driving it around the Peak District and took a couple of pics. Parking Assist and Dynaudio as options. Sorry, don't know how to put a photo in here...

Re: Hill Hold Question
Is the function the same with manual and Auto? Im picking up my Auto Scirocco next week and I haven't driven an Auto gearbox for about 10 years. The last was my brothers Mondeo and with that you drove up a hill to say some traffic lights. Braked, took your off the brake and waited....for as long as ...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Placed my order 3rd July, build week was confirmed as this week, week 35 mid July... all on track according to dealer... so if built by end of week any idea how long it will take to be delivered to the dealer in Loughborough, UK?!? 8 weeks down now... only a few to go I hope!! :) I ordered mine on ...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Any similar stories for R orders? Not sure but I read somewhere that R's were taking quite longer than standards or GT's. Not sure why and it seems unfair. To be honest I think that people are getting all kinds of wildly different estimated build and delivery times and also they actual times vary a...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Just to let people know and I don't know if this was just very good luck or they have speeded things up but I ordered my 1.4 TSI 160 with Dynaudio and Rear Sensors on July 4th and it arrived at uk Dealer yesterday (August 24th). That's very impressive in my books given I was told estimated delivery ...

Re: Computer and Steering Wheel
Thanks for the info and opinions everyone. How do you actually control the comp without the MFSW and is it easy or fiddly? I've got a MFSW on my current Golf and I only use it to change the comp occasionally but it's still useful. TBH I use it more for the stereo volume. I've seen two different vers...

Re: Computer and Steering Wheel
Thanks Skyblues11 I know what you mean about the paddles. I don't think they are maybe the best size and shape. I'm sure they are good to use for a while but probably wouldn't use them for long. I didn't go for the MF because it seemed to have redundant buttons on it like the phone one which I would...

Re: 1.4 tsi problems
Could any of these inconsistencies be down to other power drains in the cars? Eg. Climate Control/Air Con or other drains which might be left permanently on? I am assuming that the stated 42mpg by VW is based on one very small light person with no cargo or passengers driving a the absolute limit of ...

Computer and Steering Wheel
Sorry if this has been raised but I've ordered a standard spec 1.4 TSI 160.I didn't opt for the multifunction wheel but now I'm wondering if you get a different more basic computer if you don't go for the multifunction? Anyone tell me if the computers are different and if so which is better and why?...
