Re: Possible misfire

So I finally got the time to change over all four coil packs and plugs. The coil pack part number now ends with a B compared with my original ones. I also checked the plug gaps in the old ones which were replaced about 6 months ago. I didn't bother checking them before as I presumed they would be co...

Re: Possible misfire

There seems to be an ever increasing amount of posts relating to 2.0 tsi engines misfiring, jumping and hesitating. I've had the same fault in my car for the last few months. A feeling of power loss at higher rpms before a gear change. I changed the diverter valve as it was the least expensive and t...

Dsg ticking

Hi it's been a while since I've posted. I've been a happy 2.0 tsi owner from 2009. The car has just passed 27,000 miles and thought the dsg could do with a service. All went well following the oil change using the many guides available. About 4.5 litres came out and 4.5 litres went back in along wit...

Re: Battery disconnected now CH lights dont work

Funny you should have this problem as mine stopped working recently too. My lights would come on when unlocking the car and the setting was displayed on the mfd with the time set to 60 secs. When I realised it had stopped working I looked but the coming home feature was no longer listed as an option...

2.0 tsi dsg oil leak

Decided to do an oil change on my car this afternoon and whilst draining the oil i noticed a build up of oil that seemed to be around the bottom of the engine gearbox joint. There is some sort of engine support bar behind the leak and the bolt head had a drip of oil on it. Ive washed it down with ra...

Re: Wind noise from drivers window

As I said they can adjust by removing the plug from the bottom of the door. They must have removed the whole door trim.

GPS Antenne

Spotted this on a website. Not much of a description but does this plug directly into the rear of the RNS and do away with the need to locate the GPS aerial on the end of a lead?

Re: Wind noise from drivers window

Yep as above the window needs to be adjusted. My car was like this from new and had a gap where you described. There are plugs on the underside of the door that allow adjustment and it was a simple 5 minute job.

Re: 2.0tsi fuel pump relay

Just replaced the relay cleared fault codes and the car has been starting fine. Quiet easy to remove by just removing the cubby hole door. I did notice a further two relays with the same number 449 printed on them. If these are the same relay as the one I have just replaced I wondered how likely the...

Re: 2.0tsi fuel pump relay

I didn't check the fuses as the car will start after maybe the fifth attempt. If the fuse was blown I'm guessing it wouldn't start at all? Is the relay easy to replace?

2.0tsi fuel pump relay

My car has over the last year been driven only a few days per month as I am away from home with work. It started to give trouble upon initial start. When the key is turned to the start position nothing happens but gives the impression it tried to start as the dash lights are all normal. There are no...

Re: Alarm horn fault

Thanks very much for the detailed reply. I have just decided to replace it myself and ordered the parts from my local dealer. The parts come in under £100 at retail so its not too bad. I would be tempted to try the goodwill but I think you normally end up paying for either the parts or the labour an...

Alarm horn fault

After nearly four years of ownership and my car now out of warranty my alarm horn has quit. I used my vcds to run a scan and it showed up as a faulty horn. Has anyone had to change this unit themselves rather than the dealer? Ive seen on other sites that the unit gives trouble on a lot of models and...

Re: Rns510 reverse camera and update

Yes my rns works fine with the camera but with the old firmware installed you have to manually select the camera from the touch screen. When reverse is selected the OPS screen is displayed.

Is there anyone who has updated their unit and no longer needs the burnt disc?

Rns510 reverse camera and update

Hi, i have fitted the reverse camera and it works fine but fails to display the video image when reverse is selected. I can manually select it from the screen and from reading elsewhere know that it needs a software update to allow this to be displayed along side the optical parking sensors. My prob...
